Brimbank City Council

During my 20 years as a photographer I have photographed many event and function spaces for Hotel chains, Architects Builders and Councils. I understand the importance of clearly communicating the venues features, potential for use and layout.

Below are some images I created recently for the Sunshine Coast Council showcasing their spaces for hire.

MY Process

Scheduling shoot dates

The first step in the process of creating compelling images and video is to assess availability of the venues, obtain a list of areas to be covered and understand any potential logistics involved with the venues. Once this is done I would put together a shoot schedule with the view to get 3-4 venues covered each day. If a Council representative would like to be present during the shoot we can co-ordinate suitable dates.

The day of shooting involves tiding the spaces, arranging furniture and selecting best angles. Several angles will be photographed of each space with the ability for Council to choose their preferred shots. Video (if selected) will be done of each space at the same time.

online proofing

When all images are created they are uploaded to a private online gallery where the desired images can be chosen from the raw (unedited) images on offer. A simple process allowing the client to select preferred images.

digital post production

With the set of images selected retouching begins to turn the raw files into a high quality finished product.

This step usually takes as long as the shooting phase as each image is hand edited to obtain a finished product.
