Hi, I’m Stefan –
a Melbourne photographer with more than 20 years’ experience and the one man band that is Chalk Studio. My love affair with photography started as a teenager. It began as a bit of fun, but it wasn’t long before my photos were being published in skateboard and snowboarding magazines. I decided to pursue a career in photography and, since then, I’ve clocked up thousands of hours behind the lens.
Over the past two decades, I’ve been fortunate to work with incredible clients across Australia and beyond. My work has been featured on the front page of most Australian newspapers, in major magazines, on gallery walls, and in powerful campaigns for some of the world’s most recognisable brands. I’ve worked with government departments, media outlets, corporate clients and individuals, amassing experience and knowledge across all areas of photography.

I work with you to tailor a strategy based on your goals, budget and resources. I understand that not everyone thinks visually, so I provide options and examples to ensure we’re always on the same page. If you have a large advertising project, I can even assemble a full team encompassing makeup, styling, art direction and props. All you need to do is show up – or leave everything to me.
